The
Sixth Adam Smith Award The Adam Smith Award has been founded to stimulate research and support excellence in the field of mental health policy and economics research. This Award, established by The Journal of Mental Health Policy and Economics, is made possible by the support of the International Center of Mental Health Policy and Economics. The First, Second, Third, Fourth and Fifth Adam Smith Award in Mental Health Policy and Economics Research have been presented in 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2011. The Sixth
Adam Smith Award in Mental Health Policy and Economics
Research will be presented during the "Eleventh Workshop on Costs and Assessment in Psychiatry ", 2013. The Adam Smith Award will be awarded on the basis of scientific merit to the author(s) of one article published in The Journal of Mental Health Policy and Economics during the years 2011 and 2012 (Vol. 14 and Vol. 15). The Award includes the amount of $ 1,000 USD, will be made to an article of exceptional research value in the development of the interdisciplinary field of mental health policy and economics. All articles accepted by and published in the Journal during that time are eligible for consideration. Publications in the Journal during this time will be judged retrospectively by the Associate Editors of the Journal.
In addition, two "Excellence in Mental Health Policy and Economics Research Awards", have been established, each includes the amount of $ 500 USD. These Awards will be given to two articles of exceptional quality published in The Journal of Mental Health Policy and Economics during the years 2011 and 2012 (Vol. 14 and Vol. 15) and will be judged retrospectively by the Associate Editors of the Journal. Presentation of these Awards will also be made at the "Eleventh Workshop on Costs and Assessment in Psychiatry", in March 2013. These Adam Smith Award and the Excellence in Mental Health Policy and Economics Research Awards will be conferred to the author(s) of chosen articles on the basis of their significant contributions to the field of mental health policy and economics. The eligibility for the financial component of the Awards requires the affiliation of the author(s) with an Institute that is Institutional Subscriber of The Journal of Mental Health Policy and Economics. AWARD PROCESS Adam Smith Award in Mental Health Policy and Economics Research Each of the Associate Editors will be asked to indicate one article considered of exceptional value among those published in the journal. Associate Editors who publish articles in the Journal during this time period are not eligible to nominate their own article. The Editors-in-Chief are not eligible to nominate candidates for this Award and will not express any preferences. The Associate Editors will send their vote by email to the Editorial Office: moscarelli@icmpe.org. The two articles receiving the highest number of preferences will be shortlisted for further consideration. These articles will then be subjected to a second round of consideration by the Associate Editors which will then chose one article to receive the Award. Excellence in Mental Health Policy and Economics Research Award Each of the Associate Editors
will be asked to indicate two articles they deem worthy of consideration
for contributions to the field (the winner of the Adam Smith Award will
not be considered). Associate Editors cannot nominate their own work
published in the Journal. The Editors-in-Chief are not eligible
to nominate candidates for this Award and will not express any
preferences. The members of the Editorial Board will send their votes by
email to the Editorial Office: moscarelli@icmpe.org. The four articles that
will receive the higher number of preferences will be shortlisted for
further consideration. The two articles receiving the highest number of
nominations in this round will be awarded the Excellence
Awards. |
